Episode 001: Circumlocution
In my Alcohol is Bad Series, this one day we’re drunk to the head. Ile ya we don’t know where we are, except where we are.
We’re having a good time at The Hub on Airport North Road in Nairobi when one Jimmy Jimmy decides that the club is boring and we needed to switch.
Club hopping was a hobby then, I don’t know about now.
Many days we’ve started drinking at Imara Daima estate and somehow we’re waking up in a bar in Westlands - in those wee-ird hours of the morning - when people are going to work and we are not feeling stupid and I have lied to my precocious boss that I have been kidnapped to somewhere near Namanga border - He does this thing where he wonders aloud why the kidnappers didn’t take my phone — these ones were not after material things. I think they were minimalist robbers. (After that absconding duty excuse, I will run very soon be running out of excuses — although I am not one of those employees who kill their kinsmen for a day off — my morals are intact ).
So back to the club. We listen to the drunk arguments of everyone about club hopping and it’s clear that our sponsor is more drunk than we are, thanks to his incessant sipping of cheap…
